This course expands your repertoire of practical, pedagogical and managerial tools for work with the dissemination of IPP 1-2 skills in connection with release courses and beginner education, as well as tour management. The purpose of the course is to prepare you for the initial test and give you exercises you can work on independently to be sure to pass on the first attempt.

Description

Program – Teach others to sea kayak

You will learn about passing on both basic and slightly advanced techniques in the skills of sea kayaking.

Overall, the program will contain 6 modules with a focus on:

  1. Introduction to the course, instructor 2 (I2) Have framework and level understanding 
  2. Practical skills in teaching and instruction
  3. Planning of teaching
  4. Theory, trip planning and safety instructions (Evening task)
  5. Tour management with navigation in practice, group management and cases
  6. Preparation for the Instructor 2 (I2) exam

Practical

Meeting point:
You will receive an email the day before the course will be held.

Parking:
Good parking options, close to the loading area.

Clothes:
Dress for the weather, think about the 3-layer principle in your clothing.

Facilities:
Changing room and toilet for both boys and girls.

Last registration deadline:
2 days before the held course.

Duration:
The course lasts up to 16 hours and will be held over 2 days.

Sleepover:
It is possible to stay overnight by bringing your own tent. Contact us, or talk to one of the instructors on the course.

Equipment:
As a rule, you must bring all the equipment yourself, such as:

  • Kayak
  • Paddle
  • Spray deck
  • Life jacket and wet suit
  • Paddle float & pump

If you are in doubt about something or already know that you are missing something, contact us. All our equipment is CE approved.

Participant:
There will be 4-8 participants on this course.

The course is intended for:
Anyone with instructor 1 experience in sea kayaking and wants to teach others along the coasts in the equipment and techniques, if you can meet the prerequisites.

Prerequisites:

  • My. 18 years
  • IPP 3 and Instructor 1 course certificate
  • Experience as Instructor 1(I1)

We would strongly recommend preparing yourself before the course by reading through:

  • Compendium Sea kayak instructor 2 and IPP3 (Youth Ring)
  • IPP2 sea norm
  • I1 have the norm

Learning on Kayak course
